Baby Nyiko was born on the 5th of January 2018. She attended daycare at Future Graduate Kindergarten for a year in 2018, she then proceeded to a different crèche in Orlando where she attended for a short period. She is said to have been a bubbly child who was fun to be around.

Ward councilor Peter Ndou conveyed his heartfelt deepest condolences to the Mthimunyes, the Baloyis, and the community at large for the loss of a beautiful young soul at a very young age, he further expressed that this is the worst experience he has come across since his appointment in serving the community.

‘’This feels like a nightmare, a bad dream to wake up from, justice must be served and the perpetrator needs to pay for his ugly deeds,’’ he said.

The family representative expressed herself in saying that they truly have been robbed.

Both the mother and the perpetrator will appear at Protea Magistrate court on Wednesday, 2 December 2020.
