19-year-old arrested in Zola for unlawfully possessing a firearm

The suspect is currently in custody and will appear before the court on Monday.

Members of Jabulani saps responded to the information given to the Community Policing Forum(CPF) that there was someone in possession of a firearm.

When they arrived they were taken to a house in Zola 2 Bolani Road and found the information to be positive and a 19-year-old was found in possession of the said firearm and arrested.
The suspect is currently in custody and will appear before the court on Monday, 09 for Unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition (2 live rounds/bullets and Magazine ).

Brigadier Ernie Makosha Lebeko commended the patriotic and dedication of the members who actively participated and ensured that the firearm is no longer in the hands of criminals and property and lives of people were saved with such heroism.

In another incident, Jabulani saps are currently for a suspect who is well known and on the run who pointed against someone and discharged a firearm in Zola 3 and arrest is imminent soon.

NB: Firearm Amnesty for all unwanted illegal, licensed or estate firearms is still available till the end of January 2020. There won’t be any prosecution for bringing such firearms.
