Diepkloof SAPS warns against unauthorised events

“The community must know that no event must take place without application, failure to comply will lead to an arrest,” - Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto.

Since the country was moved to lockdown level 1, there has been a spike in unauthorised events and the Diepkloof SAPS is warning residents about any event that takes place without any application at the City’s Joint Operations Committee (JOC) offices.

“Organisers need to apply at the JOC to host events, they also need to remember that we are still under lockdown and people must comply with the Covid-19 regulations. We are aware of posters and flyers circulating Diepkloof advertising and inviting people to upcoming events that are not authorised.

“We have also spotted some places of entertainment where liquor and food are being sold and people don’t have licenses to sell those and they don’t even have permits for events,” Diepkloof SAPS spokesperson Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto.
