The president for Action Lerato Ngobeni issued out a statement that alleged that as soon as the two CPF officers parted ways, the mysterious suspect launched at Thibedi and shot him in the back and twice in the chest.

The statement said, “Thibedi passed away on his way to the hospital. The reason for the murder is not yet known, however, all indications point to this being a hit. Still to be determined if the hit was political or not.”

According to official crime stats, with an average of 58 murders a day, SA is fast becoming the murder capital of the world, Ngobeni said, “This number seems irrelevant until a loved one is lost in such a brutal way.”

The spokesperson for Moroka SAPS, Captain Mpande Khoza confirmed the murder and said, “No suspect has been brought in to account for the gruesome murder of the victim. But the case is under investigation.”

The Statement concluded thus, “The truth is that our outrage at these horrors must be directed into a concerted effort to restore the rule of law in our communities. Murderers and criminals alike must be hunted down and be made to face the full might of the law.”
