Motorists urged to be cautious over alleged car hijackings on N1 North and South

There have been reported cases of car hijackings in that area.

The Diepkloof SAPS is urging the community, especially motorists to be vigilant when driving on N1 North and South, due to an increasing number of alleged car hijacking cases in the area.

“There have been reported cases of car hijackings, where suspects allegedly pose as police officers or Metro police officers driving in two VW Polo vehicles a white and a grey one both with blue lights.

“It was reported that they pull over motorists and ask them for drivers’ licenses and while the victim is trying to give them what they ask for, another suspect jumps inside the car and orders the victim to drive to a certain destination where they drop off the victim and leave with both vehicles.
