Two men (22 & 25) shot dead in Zondi

The two deceased young men were renting in Zondi, and they happen to be biological brothers.

Two brothers have been shot dead in a robbery turned homicide that took place in Zondi and the police have asked for assistance in bringing the shooter into account.

The double case for murder and robbery has been opened at Jabulani SAPS and in the statement the station had released, it is alleged that the three young men were walking back from the shops to buy food around 10:30 PM when they were approached by four men with one carrying a pistol.

“One of them panicked and tried making a run for it, but he was shot twice, on the thigh and right next to the stomach,” said the Communication Officer for Jabulani Captain Sifiso Mabizela.

The young man who was shot was later declared dead, but that was not before the other two young men were searched and only found with a bank card, the gunman asked for the PIN number of the bank card and threatened to murder them if the pin was not correct. Before the two young men could chew their thoughts, the gun went off and one was shot in the eye while the other went unharmed.

The two young men, one aged 22 and the other aged 25 were both declared dead on the scene by the paramedics, the third young man is currently recovering from the trauma in hospital.

No arrests have been made yet and the police, who are investigating the case and are searching for the robbers and gunman have appealed to the people who may know anything about the crimes to come forth.
