Three police officers accused in Nathaniel Julies murder case denied bail

Police officers standing trial in the Nathaniel Julies case will be back at court on November 6

The three police officers accused of killing Nathaniel Julies have been denied bail by the Protea Magistrate’s Court. Simon Scorpion Ndyalivana, Caylene Whiteboy and Voster Netshiongolo are facing charges of murder, discharging a firearm in public, possession of ammunition, and defeating the course of justice.

The trio will remain in custody while further investigations are ongoing and will be back in court on November 6.

The defense team failed to convince the court and give reasons as to why the three accused should be granted bail.

The court highlighted issues of safety for accused number two, Whiteboy should she be released on bail.

It was revealed during bail application that accused number one, Ndyalivana had threatened Whiteboy with death via WhatsApp messages.

The state had raised fears of witness intimidation and tampering with the investigation should accused number one and number three be released on bail.
