Kgomotso Kgoadi’s rough road to success

Artist celebrates 10 year anniversary in the industry.

Kgomotso Kgoadi(22) an artist and a theatre performer born and breed in Orlando East celebrate 10 years of being in the arts industry.

The young dedicated, hardworking, talented, and enthusiastic ghetto girl still has a lot planned for her future. Like any upcoming artist, Kgoadi’s career was never made simple as the industry demands that people should have connections in order to make it.

For her, she had to sweat in order to get recognised. Growing up the young art lover used to be part of an Opera group while she was still in Grade 8.

Joining a local group known as Isambane opened doors and made her love for performing grew.

Multi-talented Kgoadi met with local artists who exposed her to music and has worked with the likes of Snyden, Guluva baby, and many more.

“My artistic activity and profession is a holistic and practical approach and I feel is capable of addressing inequality,” she said.

Kgoadi has performed Nelson Mandela’s birthday concert, Metro FM June 16 Youth celebration, the 2010 Fifa World cup opening ceremony, Umgido dance festival, Leta Mbulu’s birthday celebration, and many more.

“Faith and believing that one day I will make it in the industry kept me going over the years,” concluded Kgoadi.
