Kay-E releases yet another hit single and a music video

The video was shot under lockdown restrictions and Kay-E says that it was a challenge.

Meadowlands’ very own acclaimed township Hip-hop artist Keletile ‘Kay-E’ Nyamane has dropped yet another hit single titled ‘Some Typa Way’ with a hot music video.

“Some Typa Way is about being free and celebrating every bit of success that one achieves. On this one, I worked with DJ Louis Da Xvi & a Rapper from the East Rand called Mochene. The production on the beat is by Neasy Beats,” Kay-E said.

The music video was filmed under lockdown and they were faced with challenges due to the restrictions.

” Some Type Way music video was created during the later stages of the lockdown period and even though the restrictions were lifted a bit, it was a challenge filming it, as we had to monitor closely and adhere to the regulations, like wearing masks as well as observing social distancing, ” he said.

” Lockdown has taken a toll on my music career as it has on all other artists. But I was fortunate to be booked for the Department of Arts & Culture Youth Day Concert on MTV Base in June and got a month-long deal with Smirnoff SA in July,” he added.

Asked what the Pandemic has taught him, Kay-E said that he has learned that quality time with family is important.

” What I have learned from the pandemic is that family time and spending more time at home is important. I also got sufficient time in the studio creating new music,” Kay-E said.

The music video was a success even though they were faced with lockdown restrictions challenges.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the country will be moving to alert level 1 from Sunday, September 20 midnight

“Alert Level 1 means to the entertainment industry, more events as entertainment venues will now operate under lifted restrictions, so it’s time to start doing what I love again, which is performing for the people and equally important, recover the money lost during the past six months,” Kay-E said.

Kay-E says that lockdown has interfered with some of his plans.
” I wanted to shoot a video in Eastern Cape and Lesotho but couldn’t because of travel restrictions and also for the safety of my family members. But now that it’s Level 1, it’s back to business,” he said.

Some Typa Way music video is available on YouTube and is already playing on several music channels on TV.
