Two men arrested for possession of Nyaope and 117 bags of weed

Police Patrols continue to challenge crime.

More drug busts keep taking place in Protea Glen or around the community, just this week another man was arrested with Nyaope and another one with 117 bags of weed.

The 25-year-old found with Nyaope in Greenvillage while the police were conducting their customary stops and searched just looked suspicious to the experienced police officers.

Once again, the police’s hunch hit a bullseye when the suspicious young man was frisked and found with two plastic bags containing Nyaope.

The Communications Officer for Protea SAPS, Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng said, “Crime doesn’t take a break, so the police don’t cease patrolling communities to ensure that people are not uncontrollably plagued by it.”

The other busted drug dealer was a 28-year-old from Thubelisha who fit the description of the man described to deal in marijuana around the area.

Mashiteng said, “While patrolling the neighborhood, the police received a tip-off about a local weed dealer. The police hastily went to the house mentioned during the tip-off and found the man perfectly fitting the description of the actual dealer.”

The police thoroughly searched the house and found 117 small plastic bags containing marijuana.

The two suspects were arrested on the spot and they are due to appear at the Protea Magistrate’s Court.

Mashiteng said, “We thank the people who continue to not stand by and watch crime continue around them.”
