Police warn drivers to be extra vigilant when attending to requests

Two men were arrested for robbery with firearm and possession of suspected stolen property in Eldorado Park on Friday morning by the members of the SAPS Tracing Team.

According to police reports, information was received about a 20 year old men who had allegedly requested a Taxify on Thursday evening at Sneeuberg Street in Eldorado Park Extension 2.

When the requested Taxify arrived, the suspect pointed a firearm to the driver and started robbing him. He was then joined by his two male accomplices in assaulting the driver before robbing him of his cash, Wi-Fi router and two cell phones.  

After the arrest of the 20 year old male, he informed the members of the Tracing Team that he knew the whereabouts of   his other accomplice as well as the stolen property. He took police to the house where he identified his 20 year old male accomplice.

The police found the suspect to be in possession of the stolen property and placed him under arrest.  

The victim positively pointed out the suspects. Both suspects were arrested and detained while the recovered stolen property was handed in for further investigation. Both suspects will appear in court next week.
