KK Stars looking forward to start a new season

KK Stars plays in the lower division in the South African Brewery League (SAB League).

Sport is allowed in Level 2 but local teams are still waiting to be given a go-ahead so that they can start training and doing what they are passionate about. KK Stars Coach Tiesetso Soke said when the country went under lockdown they faced a lot of challenges as they were forced to stop training and put all their programmes to a stop.

He explained that it was very costly to them, “With players aging in the process we were forced to let go of many players because they no longer fit the required age of their programme.

“It was a hard one to take for me because these players look up to you as a father and now you had to choose between doing what is best for football in the country and sacrificing some of the players,” he said.

Soke said they are slowly trying to recover now that the country is open, and some can train.

He added that they are looking forward to starting the season and continue where they left off.

Soke said the team is formally known as Phala Stars. He explained that the team is basically about gaining promotion but most importantly help players further their careers through proper development.
