On Thursday 20 August 2020 at approximately 23h00 members of the SAPS were conducting operational duties in Freedom Park when they noticed a suspicious white motor vehicle with one occupant, parked at the corner of Telescope and Meteor street.
Upon searching the male occupant, the members found one(01) pistol firearm with a tampered serial number.
The suspect could not produce any permit nor valid documentation for the vehicle upon request.

The 36-year-old suspect was then arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle. The exhibits were seized and handed in for investigation purposes and ballistics.
The suspect will appear in the respective court during the course of the week.
