Man (34) found with 41 small plastic bags containing nyaope intending to sell

Police patrol reaps a drug dealer bust.

The Protea Glen Police have been swift in arresting drug dealers like the 34-year-old they arrested next to Protea Glen Mall for being in possession of the drug known as Nyaope.

The 34-year-old man was caught in an open veld just next to the mall when the police were patrolling the area conducting stops and searches, frisking people at random after they received a tip-off about a man who was selling substance around Protea Glen Mall.

The Communications Officer for Protea Glen SAPS, Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng said, “After the police expediently responded to the tip-off from patriotic and loyal citizens, they spotted a man around the said location fitting the description. ”

The man was frisked and found with 41 small plastic bags containing nyaope intending to sell.

The man was arrested in the spot and will appear at Protea Magistrate’s Court to answer for his alleged crime, while another young man aged 19-years was found with a bag of a substance known as CAT after the police spotted a suspicious young man next to the Clinic in Green Village.

Sergeant Mashiteng said, “The suspicious young man was stopped and frisked and found with substance. He was arrested on the spot for possession of drugs and he is due to appear in court.”

Mashiteng expressed concern over the drugs arrests he said, “It is concerning that many people desire to flood the streets of Soweto with drugs and drugs do nothing but destroy families and lives, it was unfortunate that the police had to arrest a teenage boy in possession of drugs.”
