President Cyril Ramaphosa has paid tribute to the late struggle stalwart Andrew Mlangeni describing him as someone who always sought to build unity consensus at all times.
The president delivered a eulogy at the state funeral of the last remaining Rivonia Trialist and freedom fighter at the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto Campus.
“He belonged to the era of tireless struggle, of sacrifice and service, of honour and integrity.

“It was an era of leaders who embodied the best in humanity,” said the president of Bab’ Mlangeni.
The departure of Bab’ Mangeni signifies the end of that era making it one of the notable historical events in this country.

The president said the new era should be defined by adherence to the values of the glorious movement of Mlangeni and his comrades who sacrificed their lives for this country.
Former president Thabo Mbeki shared the same sentiments with Ramaphosa.
He said a good farewell and honour for Mlangeni would be to renew the ANC and get rid of corruption.
