More than 10 areas to be affected by load reduction later today in Soweto
Eskom has released a statement about load reduction and the areas it will be impacting later today.
Eskom has released a statement saying they will be implementing load reduction in certain areas from 5 pm to 10 pm today.
The statement said that this is to avoid network overloading in high-density areas.
The areas which will be affected are Chiawelo, Dhlamini, Jabavu, Jabavu Central Western, Jabulani, Klipspruit, Mofolo Central, Mofolo North, Mofolo South, Molapo, Moroka, Moroka North, Orlando Ekhaya, Orlando West, Pimville Zones 1 to 7 & 9, Senaoane and Zondi.

Customers are urged to switch off all their electrical appliances to avoid power surges when the power returns.
“Failure to do so may lead to transformer trips or failures, and damages to household appliances when supply is restored,” read the statement.
Eskom has asked community members to please not log faults during this period and to report illegal connections to the Eskom Crime Line number on 0800 111 27 222.
