Volunteers in Orlando sanitised school transport amid the re-opening of schools

Councillor Sechaba khumalo applauded the volunteers for a job well done.

Thousands of Grade 7 and 12 learners returned to school on June 8 and most of them use transport to get to school.

60 Orlando East volunteers assisted the Gauteng Department of Transport in getting the  schoolar transport ready by helping sanitise different mode of transports to ensure that the kids are safe.

Councillor Sechaba khumalo applauded the volunteers for a job well done.

He said now they are ensured that their kids will ride in safe vehicles.

Khumalo added that this is what an ANC cadre should be known of doing in the communities.

He stated that their aim is to lead and transform our communities for the better society.

“We started by visiting school a week before to check the level of readiness now we planned to make sure that the mode of transport they use is safer for them to use and that they will not be exposed to the virus,” concluded Khumalo.
