ANC officials informed residents at Emndeni about the ANC manifesto which outlines promises to the nation

The ANC mini-rally a success.

The ANC held its much-anticipated mini-rally on Saturday, 14 March at Emdeni Terminus as part of its elections campaign for the upcoming by-elections in Ward 130.

The rally was attended by plenty of community residents, ANC members and leaders.

Amongst the leaders present were the ANC Regional Chairperson and Joburg Mayor Geoff Makhubo, ANC PEC member and Speaker of Gauteng Provincial Legislature Ntombi Mekgwe and the ANC NEC member, Minister of Tourism Nkhensani Kubayi-Ngubane and many other leaders from its structures and Alliance partners.

“Rallies are part of our final push towards any elections and are meant to inform community residents about the ANC manifesto, which outlines its promises to ensuring a better life for all, including taking our candidates Thulani Buthelezi to the people”, said the ANC Head of Media Communications in Zone 8, Tshepo Mazola Lekwape.

The keynote address was given Minister Nkhensani Kubayi-Ngubane who told residents about the importance of voting and holding their leaders accountable, working hand in hand with their public representatives in ensuring that the community becomes better, necessary services are given at a required time, the triple challenges of poverty, unemployment, and inequality are thoroughly addressed.

The programme for the day included testing services for various health problems like TB, High blood pressure, HIV AIDS and other illnesses as part of a healthy living & lifestyle campaign, and with various cultural groups providing entertainment for anyone who was attending the rally.

The programme for the day ended up with chanting of slogans and motorcade throughout the Ward. The ANC further went to pass through the house of the late Ward 130 Councillor, David Monamodi, as a sign of respect to him and the family.
