Mr. Everchanging from Newlands publishes his first book
Nhlanhla Mhlongo calls himself ‘Mr. Everchanging’ because of all the changes that he goes through in the book.
Nhlanhla Mhlongo ‘Mr. Everchanging’ (30) from Newlands is proud to announce the release of his first published book called: ‘This book should be made into a movie’.
Firstly, we asked the author why he calls himself ‘Mr. Everchanging’ and he explained that he calls himself ‘Mr. Everchanging’ because of all the changes that he goes through in the book which is his life’s changes. Going back to the book, Mhlongo explained the title of his book.
“Ever since I was young, I felt like my life should be made into a movie. There are things in life that I have been through made me feel like ‘wow, my life should be made into a movie’ and as I started writing I battled with the title and after some time I chose the title.”

Mhlongo added that he writes in a monologue style and the book is based on his true-life experiences. “The book is about the up and downs that I faced, family problems, friendship issues, love life problems, it’s just all the challenges that I have faced, some were self-inflicted.”
“My target market is the youth from 18 years old and up, they are my target market because they could maybe use my mistakes as lessons and not fall into the same mistakes that I did or they could handle the situation differently.”
Mhlongo started writing the book in 2016. According to the author, the most challenging part of the publishing process was the editing part.
“I used words which they wanted to change and it was just the whole back and forth that was a lot, other than that I think that the process was smooth sailing.”
Now that the book is published, Mhlongo feels that the real work is coming as he now needs to approach book stores, set a launch date, have a launch venue and so forth. Mhlongo feels that residents should read his book because he is a local first of all and secondly they can learn a lot from his book; ‘This book should be made into a movie’.
