Wreath-laying in Meadowlands for the late JMPD officer Jacob Moila

JMPD officer lost his life after being hit by a drunk driver.

Although the traffic department often advocates about the dangers of drinking and driving some people still do not abide by the rule.

Members of the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) and family gathered at the scene where Officer Jacob Moila lost his life while on duty on Saturday, February 15.

Emotions were high as the family could not hold their tears when they arrived on the spot where he was last seen alive.

Wreaths were laid in a cross in his memory and to honour him for being the protector of the people.

MMC of Public safety Molly Mokoena was in attendance at the wreath-laying ceremony and she stated that she wishes that the residence should refrain from drinking and driving.

“If you see that you can’t resist drinking it better if you get an Uber or a non-alcoholic to drive you,” said Mokoena.

She extended her condolences to the family of the deceased and urged them that they should put their trust unto the Lord.
