The Gail Britoe Foundation Valentine’s Day lunch

The Gail Britoe Foundation hosted a Valentine’s Day lunch. The day began with eNCA news anchor Kimberly Flanagan gracing the foundation with her presence. The girls spoke about the difficulties that they are experiencing at home and at school.

Flanagan opened up to the girls about all her past experiences and which was really difficult for her to speak about.
“I am also someone who has been abused in each and every aspect but I refused to let it get me down,” said Flanagan.

This specific group was started in 2019 when they had decided to gather with just girls to try and motivate them to the best they could do.

After meeting up once a week, they realized that the girls went through more than just being bullied at schools, they found out that some of the girls had been abused physically and verbally.

The girls found that it was really easy for them to open up to the people who are a part of this group.

They also felt that they were not judged for their stories and they were consoled by everyone in the group. Ensley Britoe, the founder of the Gail Britoe Foundation, arranged that the girls celebrate Valentine’s Day together and to have a beautiful day with their guest speaker and a delicious lunch prepared by Mrs. Britoe and her sister Olwen Jacobs.

The day was rounded off by having cake and cupcakes shared among everyone at the lunch. The Gail Britoe Foundation will, as of this year, host such gatherings twice a month now instead of once a month now.

“We thank you, Kimberly Flanagan, for gracing us with your presence and making it a super special day for our girls,” said Mr. Britoe.
