Five suspects arrested in Naledi for an alleged armed robbery

"The recovered firearm will be taken to forensic for ballistic testing,” - Dakalo Phemula.

The Naledi police arrested five suspects for alleged armed robbery, possession of unlicensed firearm and possession of stolen items in Naledi.

According to Constable Dakalo Phemula the complainant was walking along Putulugo Street when suspects approached her and allegedly robbed her at gunpoint.

The suspects then drove off with a white Toyota Tazz.

The complainant reported to the police station and informed the police of what had happened, he added.

“Police swiftly followed the information given by the complainant and recovered the car with five suspects aged between 40, 26, 20 and 19.

“All five suspects were arrested in possession of an unlicensed firearm and they will appear in court soon,” he continued.

“Suspects led the police to a house in Naledi were they recovered all items taken from the complainant and many other items which the suspects failed to account for.

The Station Commander of Naledi SAPS Colonel Mbanyele Commended the police for quick reaction and swift arrest of all 05 suspects.
