Soweto East Cluster appreciated for their amazing job during the festive season

“I wanted to inspire them and remind them that they need to decide now that they should win,” - Max Masha.

District general commissioner Max Masha addressed 5 local Police stations at Orlando Communal Hall in Orlando East.

Officers of the law from Meadowlands, Orlando, Kliptown, Eldorado Park and Diepkloof met to discuss the issue of crime in the community.

The general said it’s important for the members of the police to hear from the management that they are appreciated because in most times they feel discouraged.

He said he came to the hall to thank them for their job well done because they did very well during the festive season.

He said as they are now in 2020 he wants them to be prepared for this year because these communities must and feel safe in their area.

“I wanted to inspire them and remind them that they need to decide now that they should win,” said Masha.

The commissioner said in Johannesburg they face a lot of assault cases and he urged people that violence is not a way of solving problems; he added the unfortunate part is the people who fight are related. Masha said they have others like murder.

“You wonder why people would murder the people they love because in most cases perpetrators are not a stranger which is where gender-based violence happens.

“We have invited community representatives because we want them to work with us,” he said.

He said he wants the community to know that they care because they are their brothers, sisters, mothers, grandmothers and nobody wants their relatives to be touched.

“Refuse to be discouraged along the way. Remember out of 100 people that we help only two can come back to express their gratitude’s but if only one complaint it will be like all the 100 people have complained, rather know the community appreciate you and we as the management appreciate you,” these were the final words of General Masha to the Police.
