World Read Aloud Day at Riverlea Primary School

“Did you know that 78% of Grade 4 students in SA cannot read for meaning in any of the country’s 11 official languages?

“Children who are surrounded by print and immersed in great and well-told stories in languages they understand are more curious, confident, and motivated to learn,” this is from the Nal’ibali organisation.

Today is World Read Aloud Day and we at Riverlea Primary School where staff: general workers, office administrators, tuckshop assistants, taxi drivers, and teachers took 15 minutes of their time to read stories to the learners.
