It is like no stone has been left unturned in making sure that even the pettiest crimes are brought to justice and Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto, the spokesperson for Diepkloof SAPS reported that, “On 8 January this year Chicco Twala’s son was grabbed and arrested for theft at Diepkloof Square.”

While the community of Diepkloof is still trying to get in-sync with the new year, the police are still looking for three young men in connection with the murder of the 19-year-old just at the passage between Namedi Secondary School and Madibane High School known as Lover’s Park.

Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto said that a murder case has been launched at the station after it was reported that at around 11:30 PM, sometime last year a young boy was gunned down in an armed robbery that turned into a homicide.

Matlou-Mteto said, “Another family had to mourn the loss of their son during the festive season while the suspects walk around freely, we cannot rest until the perpetrators are brought into justice.”

She said, “It was alleged that while the three friends were passing by the open space called Lover’s Park between the schools, another group of three men approached them and one of the three men took out a gun.”
