Bara Taxi Rank drivers wanted for alleged murder

Taxi drivers from the Bara Taxi Rank allegedly beat another taxi driver to death.

The police are out on another man-hunt looking for some taxi drivers from the Bara Taxi Rank after they allegedly beat another taxi driver to death under the accusation of having stolen their computer boxes.

The Communication Officer for Diepkloof SAPS, Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto explained that the incident took place in Diepkloof at the Bara Taxi Rank; she said, “Several other taxi drivers beat the one taxi driver who was accused of stealing their computer boxes, we are not sure of the number yet, however, we want all the taxi driver to come in at the station to elaborate as to what happened.”

It is said that after the other taxi driver was brutally beaten with spanners, shamboks, and knobkerries by the other violent taxi drivers, his life slipped through his fingers and the taxi drivers fled the scene.

Matlou-Mteto said that a murder case has been opened and the taxi drivers who chose to take the law into their own hands are sought by the police.

It is not yet clear as to whether the deceased was rightfully accused or not, however, the spokesperson for the police in Diepkloof explained that the men who are now wanted men or suspects should not have taken the law into their own hands because now the law’s lengthy hand is reaching for them.
