JMPD encourages drivers to get their eyes tested

The Department has partnered with South African Optometrist Association to drive the campaign

In partnership with the South African Optometrist Association (SAOA) the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) hosted a World Sight Day event at the Grace Bible Church in Pimville, creating awareness to encourage people to get their eyes tested.

Senior Citizens from all over Soweto were invited to go and get their eyes screened and tested, somewhere given dates to collect their prescribed spectacles and some were given referrals to their nearest health care centres.

JMPD’s ‘Let’s Not Meet By Accident’ campaign was used to drive the awareness with JMPD officials blocking Chris Hani Road handing out stickers and pamphlets to spread the word to drivers to get their eyes tested since eye problem has been identified as one of the factors causing car accidents on our roads so the JMPD is saying, ‘Let’s not meet by Accident, Have Your Eyes Tested’
