Razzy Stars Shine at Myende tournament

The U11 games took off and from the first games, the boys' ambition was visible, however, only Razzy Stars FC and the Holy Devland Boys FC could make it as far as the finals for the tournament.

The Charles Yende Diski Games took place in Diepkloof during the third term school holidays, keeping the young boys from the community and some other communities around busy and inspired about their tender lives as soccer players.

The young boys all wanted to win the trophies and the new soccer jerseys up for grabs, however, only the best two teams would have the honour of lifting the trophies, one of the organizers for the tournament, Lebo Maseko, also active manager for FC Barcenal explained that the games went smooth and the two best soccer teams for the two divisions walked away with their prizes.

The U11 games took off and from the first games, the boys’ ambition was visible, however, only Razzy Stars FC and the Holy Devland Boys FC could make it as to as far as the finals for the tournament, the two teams played their heart out and tied at 0 all by stoppage time, the game went to penalty shoot out to determine the champions and Razzy Stars won 4-1 on penalty shoot outs after most of their players swiftly executed their penalties.

Coach Enoch Langa of Razzy Stars FC said, “We were so thrilled to take part in the tournament and I would like o to congratulate my U11 boys for showing us that they are truly champions.”

The U15 games were competitive and tight from the first day of the tournament, but it was only KVK Academy and Orlando Preston Brothers that made it till the finals of the games, KVK Academy showed determination and strength, however, Orlando Preston Brothers seemed to be stronger and more determined, and their will to lift the trophy overcame that of KVK’s, winning the U15 matches 2-1.

Maseko said, “The games were truly exciting, we would like to congratulate both the Orlando Preston Brothers and Razzy for coming out tops.”
