Music runs through veins like father like son

Mbatha has been running his studio for more than 12 years by now and he expressed his desire to help upcoming artists under Molimi Studios.

Music runs through Bongani Mbatha’s veins since his dad used to love music as well he was even part of the SABC Choristers.

Mbatha spoke about how his late father worked with artists like Senyaka back in the days and how when he saw him actively taking part in the music industry, that sparked his pure love for music.

Mbatha said that his father further took him to study music while he was still a tender teenager, Mbatha said, “I was probably 11 years old when my father took me to school to learn the piano which I grew up playing before going to study music engineering.”

Mbatha narrated the time when he went to work for a good company and how he felt like he was drifting away from his first passion, music, he said, “I did not feel good about not doing music.”

He eventually left the company to start his music movement after working and budgeting towards his dream, building his first studio in his bedroom.

Mbatha’s Settled Records focuses majorly on the quality of music, which is why he felt compelled to go and study to understand the theory as much as the practical side of making music, Mbatha said, “The last big name I have worked within my studios in Diepkloof was Sbu Maloya after having worked with artists like Pitch Black, Kae E and Tido.”

Mbatha has been running his studio for more than 12 years by now and he expressed his desire to help upcoming artists under Molimi Studios.
