Charles Yende Games underway

The competition was set to be a tough one for the U11 Divisions and the U15 Divisions.

The Charles Yende Diski Games have taken off and the young football players from Diepkloof and the communities around all want the trophy.

The competition was set to be a tough one for the U11 Divisions and the U15 Divisions, Coach Enoch Langa of Razzy Stars expressed the team spirit of excitement that was hovering around his players going to the competition, Langa said, “These sort of well organised and coordinated soccer games are very thrilling to us the coaches and the players, we need to have more of these games to keep our boys fit and mentally ready for bigger and more professional games.”


Qhakaza FC.

The games kicked off with a very active game for the U11s between the FC Barcenal and Wolves FC, Wolves FC seemed more capable than FC Barcenal though beating them 3-1. DK Rocks went on to win against NLD Academy on walk-over.

For the first time in a while Razzy Stars faced defeat against Devland Holy Boys and the KVK Academy won 4-3 against Newcastle United in a game that wrapped up the U11 games on the first day of the games.

One of the organisers for the games, Lebo Maseko who also has been hands on in supporting the young players for FC Barcenal and motivating the players participating in the games, explained that from these games it’s where young and tender talents can be spotted, Maseko said, “We wish all the best to all the teams taking part in the Charles Yende Games and fair games.”


Ekujabuleni FC.

FC Barcenal returned stronger and motivated with their U15 squad, beating Newcatle United 3-0. Razzy Stars tied 1 all against KVK Academy in a very tough and competitive game. The Winter Roses rose against Real Madrid in the last game for the U15s beating them 1-0. Langa said, “We are very pleased to see our boys improve and play their favourite sport, we are always with them to support them in progressing with the football.”

The games will be active until 29 September at the Bhareng Sports Ground in Diepkloof.

Qhakaza FC went on against Ekujabuleni Kwabantwana FC thrashing them 12-0.
