Annual Principals Forum hand over at Eldorado Park
The Eldorado Park Principals Forum hosted its annual LTSM Handover.
The Eldorado Park Principals Forum hosted its annual LTSM Handover on Thursday, September 12. Held at Feed My Lambs Primary School in Eldorado Park Extension Nine, the theme for the event was the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The purpose of the event was to officially hand over cheques to various programmes taking place within the Greater Eldorado Park community. The beneficiaries for this year included the Eldorado Park Primary Sports Union, Arts and Culture Programmes within the community as well as Secondary School Improvement Programmes.
Community leader, activist and founder of the Yellow Ribbon Foundation Dereleen James and Andre Hendricks each delivered keynote addresses.
James discussed the importance of communication in her address as well as the role that organisations play in the education system.

James also shed light on the harsh realities of substance abuse and the underlying contributors that parents fail to recognise.
Hendricks based his conversation on the theme of the event, the Fourth Industrial Revolution. James discussed the importance of progressive education and the need for industry-specific training. James elaborated on the importance of understanding the youth, the ability to communicate with them and understand the changes in society that doesn’t allow for a mindset of intolerance and silence. Also touched on the importance of committed teachers and discipline.
Mervin Louw, who is the newly elected chairperson of the Eldorado Park Principals Forum addressed the attendees and based his speech on the importance of safety around women and children in the community.
Louw also addressed the need for unity amongst surrounding areas and urged residents and stakeholders to support schools and teachers as the future of the youth is at risk.
The Feed My Lambs choir rendered a musical item as part of the entertainment.
