Beautiful Surprise for Sekwati Primary School in Rockville

The team also painted the school's play area to make in it more appealing and interesting for the learners.

Loreal visited Sekwati Primary school in Rockville to celebrate Citizens Day. They brought gift packs for each of the School’s learners. The initiative was part of Loreal’s community outreach initiative in which the cosmetics company gives back to deserving organisations. This was according to the team’s National Education Retail and Services manager, Ashley Fernandes.

“This is part of our annual citizen’s day initiative where we identify organisations that could use a little extra help. We did a site visit to Sekwati Primary and saw that there were some things we could improve,” she said.
Fernandes also called on community members to step up and assist schools and learners.

“I think it’s very important to help wherever you can. That’s the spirit we’re trying to bring in. We hope it extends to even the community members. That they can be inspired by the work done here today and also step in. These young learners are the future so we are proud to make a positive contribution.”

In addition to the hygiene packs, the team also painted the school’s play area to make in it more appealing and interesting for the learners. Amongst the gifts brought by the Loreal team, there were hygiene packages for the learners that included, toothbrushes, hair gel, shampoos and sanitary towels.

13-year-old Thato Mothiba said she was grateful for the sanitary pads.

“For me, the important items were the sanitary pads. Some learners are not able to come to school on some days because they don’t have sanitary pads. We had a great day today and we are very grateful to Loreal,”
While her grade mate Oratile Mahlaba said the roll-ons would be most useful for the boys.
