Eldos’ very own Doughnut man

Having started baking only a year ago, Stadt believes that he can use his baking to inspire unemployed residents in the Greater Eldorado Park community.

32-year-old Randall Stadt, commonly known by the Eldorado Park community as Randy, is passionate about people and baking.

Having started baking only a year ago, Stadt believes that he can use his baking to inspire unemployed residents in the Greater Eldorado Park community. Stadt currently sells his baked goods at the robots on the corner of Main and Kremetart in Extension Three.

“I have tried so many things before but nothing ever felt right. A year ago, I decided to give baking a try and I haven’t turned back since. People call me the Doughnut man but really, I am passionate about people. I enjoy interacting with my customers,” said Stadt.


Customers, Joshua Buys, Camudene Peters, Sebastian Wilson and Caitlin Peters buying doughnuts from Randall.

“I am stationed at the robots in Extension Three from 5 am to 8 am every morning and from 4 pm every afternoon,” he added.

Stadt currently specialises in preparing muffins and doughnuts. When asked about his secret, he said that love is the most important ingredient.

“I am sure so many people have said this before but I truly believe that in order for you to produce something great you have to be passionate, I put a lot of love, time and effort into baking and I think that’s why I receive so much support from my community,” said Stadt.

He also said that he wants to show the youth that their dreams and passions are valid and that they should never feel embarrassed for earning a decent living.

“We have many unemployed people in our community. I want to encourage our youngsters to be confident,” he added.

Stadt said that one of his goals is to help upskill the community.

“I am not in the position to take on youngsters but eventually I would like to host baking classes to teach our youth how to bake,” he concluded.
