A 33-year-old man arrested for the alleged rape of a female friend

Naledi SAPS arrested a 33-year-old man for allegedly raping a 33-year-old female friend.
According to the police statement, the complainant alleged that on Monday 2 September 2019 in the afternoon she was at the friend’s place in Naledi where the incident occurred. The two were sitting in the shack when the suspect left to buy food, he found the complainant sleeping on his bed on his return as she could not leave the shack unlocked.
“They both shared a bed overnight; in the early hours of the morning, the suspect woke up and raped her. He undresses her and forcefully penetrated her without her consent and offered to give her money.
“The complainant screamed out loud and other tenants came to her aid. She ran to the police station. The suspect was arrested he will appear in court soon,” according to the police statement.
The police statement suggests that according to the complainant’s statement they were both sober when the incident occurred
