Thames FC’s top goal scorer for the season
The nine-year-old striker said that he just loves playing the game, and shared that his favourite soccer player is Paulo Dybala from Juventus Football Club.
At the age of nine-years-old, Taheer Ismail from Riverlea is already showing coaches and his parents a promising career in football. Ismail has been playing soccer since the age of three and he has been part of the Thames Football Club from Riverlea.
The striker is currently the highest goal scorer for his team for this season. Owner of the football club, Craig van Doorsen indicated that according to his record, the player has scored about 42 goals for the season.
“He had a very good season this year, he scored nine hat-tricks which is amazing for a nine-year-old player.
“He comes from a humble background and his parents put a lot of emphasis in his school work as well as sports, which is a good thing because it balances.
“He is a very humble boy, he has excelled due to his hard work and dedication, at that age, you will never believe that youngster’s way of thinking, he is definitely destined for greater things,” said van Doorsen.
Nazeer Ismail, who is the father of striker added in an email that he would like to share his son’s successes so that it can motivate other players in the league too.
“With Taheer’s progress, he is even playing in higher divisions which is the U11 and U13 teams.
“At this present moment at the age of nine-years-old, he is even figured in the U13 Build It Tournament which tells you how good he is,” added van Doorsen.
The nine-year-old striker said that he just loves playing the game, and shared that his favourite soccer player is Paulo Dybala from Juventus Football Club and his favourite soccer team is Juventus too.
Ismail would like to become a professional soccer player.
Club owner, van Doorsen concluded by saying that Ismail must stay grounded and focused and that the sky is the limit for him.
“As the owner of Thames FC, we are proud and we can say that Taheer will become a professional footballer one day.”
