Hotspot promises to be one way of conserving electricity

A hotspot is also a Proudly South African innovation owned by AET Africa, the company lead by, Sandiswa Qayi.

Following a series of incidents between the community of Soweto and power utility , Eskom, AET Africa team have decided to share with the community ways to save on its electricity by reducing its geyser consumption, calling on all individuals including artisans, plumbers, contractors, entrepreneurs, distributors, etc. to go and learn about conserving electricity through its award-winning innovation called Hotspot, which is an energy-saving device that is retrofitted onto any geyser.

A hotspot is also a Proudly South African innovation owned by AET Africa, the company lead by, Sandiswa Qayi.

According to the information provided by the company, this innovation can assist in reducing electricity consumption as it allows you to use your geyser-like a kettle, thus, you only heat the amount of water you need to use as opposed to heating a whole geyser.

This promises to save you time, water and electricity because once the device is retrofitted onto your geyser, it only takes less than 30 minutes to heat 50 litres of water at a temperature of 50 degrees and on average an individual use between 15-20 litres of water to take a shower or bath.

The event is free, estimated to take 4hrs from, 10am-2pm at the Soweto Business Hub inside Maponya Mall on Friday, August 23. There will also be some entertainment from a local duo, Selfmade SA, who will be performing their new single titled, ‘Hotspot’.
