Women in blue celebrated by the Eldorado Park Community Police Forum (CPF)
"Women have to start believing in themselves, there’s no such thing as ‘only men can do it’. We can do it too,” - Constable Khobo.
The Eldorado Park Community Police Forum (CPF) celebrated the women in blue who serve the community daily. The event, which was held at the Don Mateman Hall in Extension Five honoured policewomen for their hard work and dedication to the Greater Eldorado Park community.
CPF Chairperson, Dominique Palmer welcomed guests and thanked all the women for their continuous commitment to Eldorado Park as a whole. “ Women’s day is very special, it commemorates the strength of women and their unity.
If we conducted our everyday life like the women of 1956 things would be done more swiftly, that is what I believe. Do we have to fight and vandalise and terrorise just to be heard? I don’t think so,” said communications officer Constable Fezeka Khobo.

“My plea to our community is that we start respecting one another, and most of all respect ourselves and not look down on others,” she added.
Constable Khobo also said that the role of the woman in the blue is to uplift other women and make them have confidence within themselves and believe in themselves.
“We need to create a culture where we can stand up for any woman and support her. The women in blue are no different from the men in blue, the only difference is our gender, but other than that we were trained the same way at the Police College and we perform the same duties as men.
