“Xtreme Racing Exhibitionist, eleven times National Champion, nine times National SuperMoto Champion, USA National 7, Winner of the Red Bull Cross Choice EnduroX in São Paulo Brazil and only person to successfully ride a motorcycle up and over the Moses Mabhida Soccer Stadium,” this was the description Neil van der Ross gave of Brian Capper.

Capper, van der Ross, Dean Rigney and friends had their third ‘road show school event’.

According to van der Ross, before all the stunts were performed, the team first informed the learners about the various motor sports, they shared their history and efforts it takes in order to become a professional athlete such as Capper.

“We stressed the importance of a good education. We highlighted the dangers of drugs, alcoholism, something all athletes are tested by, gangsterism and bad company. We detailed how we achieved our personal goals by many sacrifices and even the ones of our parents.

“We explained the many hours, weeks, years of training to participate at the highest level of competition. The difference between the bikes and skills displayed brought home the message of the motorsport athletes,” said van der Ross.

The Motokids junior grass roots programme was also shared with the learners of the school.

“The kids were blown away by Brian’s skills. The show was meant to be 67 minutes but could not finish because the chants of ‘we want more’ by the excited kids. We glad our positive message was so well received.

“Thanks to Everest Primary School principal and staff for their efforts and a special thanks to Brian Capper,” concluded van der Ross.
