A 48-year-old man arrested for multiple firearms-related charge
The firearm was seized and the suspect will appear in Protea magistrate court.
Naledi SAPS arrested a 48-year-old man on Sunday for alleged pointing of a firearm, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The police statement reads, “the complainant who is a taxi driver informed the police that the suspect was one of the passengers who were going to Naledi. Upon arrival, the suspect allegedly took out his firearm and pointed the driver accusing him of failing to stop where he was asked to”.
According to the statement, no injuries were reported the suspect allegedly got off the taxi in Naledi and walked away, the suspect was later arrested, found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol, 08 live rounds of ammunition and 01 magazines.
According to the statement, the firearm was seized and the suspect will appear in Protea magistrate court facing the charges of pointing of a firearm, possession of unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition.
