We see them on garbage collection days in the streets of ekasi and only a few realise an importantf role they play in saving our planet, these people are saving millions of Rands worth of land space per year.

Waste pickers as we commonly refer to them, Unilever the Beauty and Personal Care company acknowledged them as ‘Reclaimers’, raising awareness for the work that’s being done to drive purpose-led change.

In its purpose to educate and bring life to purpose-!led Beauty, the company hosted a number of celebrities, social media influencers and members of the media in a 3-day journey, of a Beauty with Purpose showcase by the company’s Beauty and Personal Care brands, sharing their core purpose, addressing the scale of plastic waste, driving the idea that people is about taking care of ourselves as well as the planet.

The Purpose Dinner that was held on Wednesday, July 24 at Beverly Hills, Umhlanga was designed to bring to life the Company’s sustainable living plan and commitment to being a purpose-led business for the planet, people and society.
