Soup drive in hopes to feed, counsel and pray for the Eldorado Park

Various pastors supported the initiative and prayed inline with the senseless shootings and gun violence that is currently plaguing the Greater Eldorado Park community.

Pastors, music ministers and artists came together at the corner of Main and Goud street in Extension Eight in hopes to feed, counsel and pray for the Eldorado Park community.

Pastor Dwain Ponsonby, Natasha Daniels and Curt Hardy, who were the organisers, said that the various ministers and artists came together for one purpose- to serve God’s people.

The ministers and volunteers set up food tables as early as 7:30am.

“Eldorado Park needs this. This community needs the church to come together and become one. Where there is unity God commands a blessing.

“Eldos is in a bad state, there is violence and senseless shootings and we believe that all of this needs to be addressed in the Spirit realm because the physical is simply not helping,” said Pastor Dwain.

“As ministers, artists and musicians, we have decided to come to the ground and make contact with residents. We are not only here to feed the community but we are here to spend time with them, worship, counsel and pray for those in need. We are here to listen to them, engage with them. The goal is to nourish them physically and spiritually,” he added.
