Honoring the Community Policing Forum (CPF) members

67minutes for Madiba.

The Soweto East Cluster honoured Community Policing Forum(CPF) by hosting an event for them at the Meadowlands police station where the day it was all about their contribution and hard work that they have dedicated in the community.

Nelson Mandela once said that ‘ the hand that gives gets more blessed’ hence on this day thousands of people dedicate their time to helping, uplifting and contributing positively to someone’s life.

In the event to celebrate 67 minutes, they erected a vegetable garden for the Community Policing Forum members.

“We erected a garden in the name of our CPF members to show them that we appreciate them, we want them to maintain this garden just as they maintain the community at large,” said Sergeant Octavia Thebe the media liaison officer of Meadowlands Police station.

“We are excited to see the partnership between our patrollers and the police, and we would like to thank all the donors who honoured our members today, we also want to pay homage to an icon Nelson Mandela who fought for the freedom of the country,” said Zwane.

The event was attended by various members of the police force, the community and the patrollers.

The representative of the MEC  of community safety, Geraldine Mothibela spoke as one of the distinguished guests.

“I would like to thank the cluster because they have done us proud with their work as a person from the department of community safety they know I can depend on them, I quote the late  Nelson Mandela, ‘safety and security don’t just happen , they are as a result of collective processes and public investment we owe our community and women a free and safe society’, said Mothibela.

There was a walkabout for the viewing of the newly erected garden and also entertainment items by the Community Policing Forum members who performed their unique salutation.
