The Eldorado Park police station urges residents to report incidents as they occur.

Two male suspects, aged 28 and 29 were arrested for attempted murder on Sunday evening, July 7. According to Constable Fezeka Khobo, the communications officer at the Eldorado Park police station, the incident happened around 10pm.

“It is alleged by the complainant that they received a lookout of suspects involved in a shooting around the area with a motor vehicle that did not have a registration plate. The complainant patrolled the area and eventually saw the vehicle and chased it to the Nancefield area.

“A shootout ensued between the officers and the suspects,” said Khobo. “Back up was called, the suspects ran into the bushes and started shooting again, the police persisted to chase the suspects and managed to catch two of them. The vehicle was also recovered and taken to Lenasia to be booked in the SAP 13 store,” she added. Khobo confirmed that the suspects are being detained at the Eldorado Park SAPS for further investigation and will appear in court soon.
