Ficky All Stars FC proud of their U19 team

Ficky All-Stars is a soccer club from Klipspruit West and is affiliated with the Jowest Local Football Association.

Not much was said about the juniors in the Steven Pienaar Community Cup, however, there were 152 teams playing in this year’s tournament.

Many clubs battled it out and of course, there was only one team who could be the winners of each division. This week Ficky All Stars Football Club shares their successes in the community cup.

Ficky All-Stars is a soccer club from Klipspruit West and is affiliated with the Jowest Local Football Association. This year the club is proud to celebrate their win in the Steven Pienaar Community Cup U19 Division.

The U19 team played against Dynasty Football Club from Davidsonville in the finals at the Westbury Soccer grounds on June 16.

Coach Spurgeon Myles mentioned that it was a very competitive game. Shafiek Snayers from the club said: “We had a lot of open chances to win the game in open play but the score remained 0-0 at full time. We won the game 4-2 on penalties.”

According to Snayers, their U19 division is an extremely competitive stream, and the team had to beat the likes of Westbury Spurs who are regarded as one of the top teams in the Jowest LFA.

Snayers the added: “This is a very talented group of players and most of them are with the team since inception in 2008. The same group won this tournament 2 years ago in the U15 division.

“We had a great tournament overall as most of our other divisions reached the knockout stages as well our U13 team that reached the finals and lost 3-1 against Elite Football Academy and our Ficky Ladies lost 4-3 on penalties in the semi-finals. We have a solid structure and good leadership.”

The team will be back next year to battle it out to the top spot.
