WATCH: Carjacking at Bembesi Street in Riverlea caught on camera

The vehicle has been recovered and booked in at the Lenasia police station.

Communications officer from Langlaagte police station Constable Phumi Kraai releases details to the hijacking which took place yesterday morning in Riverlea, Bembesi Street. The incident occurred after 6 am.

“The complainant sent her nephew with her car, a silver-grey VW Jetta to quickly go to Sharon Flats and come back.

“As he pulled up to the house gate, a white Toyota Tazz with unknown registration number pulled up next to him, he was pointed with a firearm by three (03) unknown Coloured males and was pushed into the vehicle and they drove off with him,” – said Kraai.



He was then dropped off near Jagfontein Road near Westonaria.

The vehicle has been recovered and booked in at the Lenasia police station.
