A launch for a unique Shisa Nyama called Nhlekeza & Spha Shisa Nyama and Butchery was held on June 1 by two of our homeboys, Siphamandla Masimula and Nhlanhla Makaula at Zola 3 Pilgrims shops.

It specialises in Isibindi, Inhliziyo, Ithumbu, Wors, Steak, Beef and Inyama yenhloko. They also offer Amanqina, Chicken feet, Gizards, and Inyama yangaphakathi for the households.

The business was inspired by the fact that they saw the need to sell affordable meat locally as it is rare to find. They also offer catering for the old age homes, for their affordable day to day meals like Chicken feet, Mogodu, Amathambo for stew, liver and hearts. During the weekends their business becomes very handy for people who have got visitors in their households and to those who come home late from work.

“Our business will benefit the community in a sense that we know that Zola households are managed by pensioners while some are child headed homes that are underprivileged hence we sell affordable isishebo to residents.

Precious Lebea and Nompumelelo Tiyane were part of the Shisa Nyama launch.

“It will also benefit some Stokvels around the community as they can have their weekend meetings at our venue and do some networking as we braai their meat. Any form of donation for our business from relevant companies would be highly appreciated as we would like it to grow enormously in order for us to create jobs for young people who are unemployed,” said Masimula.

What makes their Shisa Nyama business unique is that they do not fry their isibindi and inhlizinyo like other eateries but they braai them, they are also planning to have a community exhibition on month end of July.

Each small business will have an opportunity to stall and exhibit their products to the community and get to network with one another for great opportunities.

“Our goal is to see our business being one of the biggest suppliers of small businesses in Soweto and to won a slaughter house,” Masimula concluded.
