TSP disqualified in the tournament

TSP has been disqualified from partaking in the Naledi Juventus Football academy winter games tournament, the organizers announced the team’s dismissal this morning.
TSP’s dismissal from the tournament comes after they disputed the referees’ decision and caused disruptions which resulted to their game against tournament hosts Naledi Juventus being stopped on Tuesday 25 at Club Colombia sports grounds.

Tournament rules.

The match official Fezile Hlophe said he ruled for a goal kick after TSP scored a goal from an indirect free-kick.
“An indirect free-kick is played by two players not one, therefore, I ruled for a goal-kick because the goal was scored in an unlawful manner,” said Hlophe.
According to The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Laws of the game 2012/13, (page 40, law 13- free kicks, a goal can be scored only if the ball subsequently touches another player before it enters the goal. If an indirect free kick is kicked directly into the opponents’ goal, a goal kick is award.
TSP coach Thato Thoko confirmed that their 3rd game was their last game in the tournament as the team has been disqualified from participating.
“I must say I am very disappointed with that decision I mean on what grounds did they decide to disqualify us? But anyway it is their tournament and their rules I wish them good luck for taking their own tournament,” said Thoko.
Juventus chairperson Pathious ‘Passmore’ Letswalo send the dismissal of TSP for the winter tournament with reference to the rules of the tournament. He said all teams were given the rules prior to the tournament launch.
“We decided based on what happened in the game and the match report to reimburse TSP academy’s affiliation fee and remove them from our winter games tournament on the bases of the match official’s report and TSP academy’s conduct of invading the pitch and our discretion,” said Letswalo.
