Mo-Afrika empowering the youth through sports

Several cases of young people getting involved in substance abuse have escalated so the role of the tournament.

Mo-Afrika Ithlokomele educational is a non-profit organisation that is geared at empowering young people more specifically the underprivileged ones, as it hosted a soccer tournament called the Super Diski Challenge (SDC).

The actual purpose of the tournament is to honour the late Mbongiseni ‘Super’ Mtshali who was the co-founder and a Managing Director of the organisation.


Zonke Gcasamba, the coodinator of the organisation.

“Our aim is to assist young people to refrain from malicious behaviour, social ills that might challenge them, for them to show off their hidden talent and to assist them to take their soccer careers to a higher level,” said the coordinator of the organisation, Zonke Gcasamba.

Several cases of young people getting involved in substance abuse have escalated so the role of the tournament is to curb such issue as it is winter school holidays.

“We are actually in need of sponsors so any form of a donation from relevant companies will be highly appreciated. The Department of Arts and Culture is one of the promising sponsors for the tournament as it is an annual thing and our aim is to make it grow enormously,” she concluded.
