Pyjama party for the children at the Happy Child Day Care Centre

A pyjama party for a good cause.

Pyjama parties are often hosted with the notion that elicits fun and enjoyment, due to the ambience it attracts because everyone gets happy when wearing pyjamas. This was the case with Happy Child Day Care Centre on June 14.

This crèche was opened in 1992 and prides itself with producing excellent learners who are well equipped to kick start their school journey for a brighter future.

Children’s happiness is at the heart of Happy Day Care Centre as it is also incorporated in the crèche’s name.

Every year, the crèche hosts a pyjama party that is aimed at accommodating all the kids to experience the party mood in which they might not be accustomed to at home.


Happy Child Day Care Centre staff Lindiwe Crizel, Johanna Mashimbye, Luyanda Xaba, Thenjiwe Manyosi and Ntsajoa Mafisa.

The crèche has a total number of 68 children and prides itself for the tremendous growth and expansion it has witnessed since its establishment by the late precious Gogo Vivian Mphahlele who started the crèche with only 12 children in 1992.

Happy child Day Care started off as a community project that specialised in relieving working mothers of the burden by looking out for their children while they went to work.

The crèche strives to maintain children’s happiness at all times because a happy child is a healthy child and healthy children are most likely to excel in life.
