KYP’s first ever pageant a huge success
The theme for the day was school uniform, commemorating June 16 in style.
In celebration of Youth Day, Kliptown Youth Program (KYP) held it’s first ever Mr and Miss KYP pageant and it was a huge success.
The theme for the day was school uniform, commemorating June 16 in style. The categories for the pageant were, Mr and Miss KYP High school, Miss KYP foundation phase, Miss KYP Primary School (Grade 4-7).
Professional and experienced judges were invited and for foundation phase, Angel Mokhine was crowned the Queen of KYP 2019, Sharon Nontsinyana being her first princess and Oyama Mazeke as second princess, while Unoloyo Shongwe was crowned Miss Personality Foundation Phase 2019.
For higher primary category, Simphiwe Ntshingila was crowned the 2019 Miss KYP Queen, while Sinesihle Nxasana was crowned first princess and second princess, Oyena Bly.
Miss personality 2019 was taken by Lethabo Mashiloane.
Mr and Miss KYP High School category seemed to be tougher for judges to make a decision.

Unarine Netshinde is the reigning Miss KYP 2019 as she was crowned ‘Queen’, Ndiwanga Lwhengo was crowned first princess and Buhle was crowned second princess.
The Miss personality title was taken by Banyana Mofokeng.
For Mr KYP High School Musa Selebalo was crowned ‘king’, Sanele was crowned first prince and Ntokozo was crowned second prince. Mr personality High School 2019 was taken Lebohang Sithole.
Because Mr KYP Primary school did not have participants and Zithulele Yeni was the only contestant in that category, he took a brave step to be the only primary school contestant participating in the high school category of Mr KYP and he was surprised to be crowned King for Primary School category, this was to appreciate him for his bravery to enter the pageant even when he was required to contest with contenders older than him.
